Malaysia’s fastest-growing tech company

DESIGNING software for franchise businesses might sound like a pretty niche business model but that is how software developer Mobysys Sdn Bhd is making its mark in the international tech scene. This growing recognition has seen Mobysys becoming the sole Malaysian company making it into the list of the top 500 fastest-growing technology companies in the Asia-Pacific last year ranked by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd. South Korea’s Daum Kakao Corp, the developer of mobile messaging application Kakao Talk, had topped the list by achieving 11,681% revenue growth over the past three years. However, China and Taiwan dominated the rankings with 100 and 90 companies respectively in the top 500. Mobysys was ranked 57th for chalking up 624% revenue growth over the same period. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Systech Bhd, which was listed on Bursa Malaysia’s Ace Market in 2011. While Mobysys should be congratulated for its achievement, it is worrying that no other Malaysian tech company has broken into the top 500 ranking.
