Will the AirAsia- MAHB spat ever end?
FocusM | 11 Jan 2019 00:30
It appears that the faux pas from AirAsia Bhd is not about to end anytime soon. Barely days after being confirmed as the CEO of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin had to face a public sarcasm from AirAsia Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes about the quality of cleanliness and hygiene at klia2.

Fernandes had, on Jan 8, sarcastically ridiculed MAHB for poor hygiene at klia2 after posting a photo of a large bee hive at the airport.

He tweeted: “Now we have bees in klia2. We got maggots, rats and now bees. Maybe a zoo or klia2 honey. Could be new income which could reduce airport tax. Joke aside, this is dangerous for my passengers and my staff. Will the non-communicative new CEO solve this?”

To be sure, there is nothing wrong in pointing out safety and hygiene issues at klia2 that need to be resolved quickly. Fernandes has the right to criticise the airport operator about the bee hive just like any other traveller.
