The Malaysian Business Angel Network (MBAN) presents the ASEAN Angel Alliance (AAA) Summit 2018, which will be held on the 27th and 28th of November 2018 at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle) as the main sponsor.
Having the reputation of being one of the most impactful and widely anticipated events in the region, focused on the investors' community since 2015, the MBAN Summit has been rebranded and will now be known as AAA Summit 2018. The AAA Summit 2018 themed “Celebrating ASEAN Angel Investment” provides unique opportunities for the angel investment community and high-caliber startups from the region to connect, engage, and contribute to the advancement of angel investment and to promote and increase the visibility of angel investments in startup ventures in the region. The Summit is poised to attract more than 200 delegates including angel investors, ecosystem players, government agencies, and entrepreneurs from across ASEAN.
The summit will be discussing current issues and the way forward with Angel Investment in the region and will covers an extensive array of themes or topics that are headlining the news globally and locally. Topics such as Property Crowdfunding which recently made the news in Malaysia with the announcement by the Government in Budget 2019, allowing for the setting up of property crowdfunding solutions as an alternative source of funding for first time homebuyers will be discussed in relation to what it would mean for an angel investor and how they can take advantage of this opportunity.
The summit is also set to tackle some tough challenges and decisions faced by Angel Investors when it comes to accessing parameters for investments and Masterclass by Kalo Yankulov, former co-founder of HeadReach will be challenging some myths around investments by sharing his story of how he managed to sell his company in 36 months.
One of the key highlights of The Summit is the premiere of the ASEAN-wide pitching competition, “Enter the Tigers’ Lair”, where 10 elite ASEAN startups selected via a regional competition will be given the unique opportunity to pitch their business plans to the “Tigers", a panel of successful entrepreneurs and funders. The pitching session will take place, live in front of an audience of over 200 angel investors.
