Khazanah should be more open to MAS, PLUS bids
FocusM | 19 Jul 2019 00:30
Khazanah Nasional Bhd controls two huge entities with quite similar fortunes. One is toll highway operator Plus Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) while the other is the cash-strapped national airline, Malaysia Airlines (MAS).

And by the looks of it, the government sovereign fund is not about to let go of either entity although there have been bids from various parties. This has raised questions as to Khazanah’s policies and strategies moving forward.

Its response to the takeover bids is interesting, especially to the bid for PLUS by Maju Holdings Sdn Bhd. When Maju first made the offer to buy PLUS in September 2017, Khazanah which owned 51% in PLUS, was not even willing to discuss the offer with Maju.
