Leadership changes afoot at CIMB, Affin Bank?

Two major banking groups in the country are mulling changes to its top management lineup, according to
sources familiar with the matter.

CIMB Group Holdings Bhd is believed to be looking for a successor to group CEO Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Aziz. It is understood that there is a possibility that his tenure as CEO may not be renewed. Tengku Zafrul
was appointed group CEO and executive director on Feb 27, 2015.

To this end, the banking group has shortlisted 10 names to take over the job with Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd (MIDF) group managing director (MD) Datuk Charon Mokhzani among the frontrunners. Charon, a former investment banker and lawyer, had spent nine years at CIMB.
